Guilty Crown 01 review
I normally give new animes three episodes before I decide if I want to follow them or not, but every so often, there are those that get my blood racing, and I know I will definitely watch these shows to the end. Sometimes, I end up being disappointed. I sincerely hope this show will not be one of those instances.
So yea, if it wasn’t obvious enough, I thought Guilty Crown was awesome. As do most people, really.

Just the opening captured my attention, captivated me right from the get go. The animation was stunning, the song, written by supercell and sung by their new guest vocalist were like a eargasm (and you won’t hear me say that for many songs) and the direction was just really really…awesome. I hate to be boring and use such a generic expression for how great something is on my first post, but at nearly 3am in the morning, it’s the only word that comes to mind at the moment.
Have I mentioned how gorgeous I think she is?
I have to add, the vocal cast so far seems to be quite well fitted, nothing that would make you want to dig your ears out (cough*Killua’sSeiyuu*cough). The story seems to have potential, albeit the cliches which are sure to follow.
Still, I’m a strong believer in that cliches are perfectly okay if well executed, and Guilty Crown (am I alone in that Guilty Gear keeps popping to mind?) definitely seems to promise to do a good job unveiling the story.
Not a long post for a first episode, just that it was a great one, and if Guilty Crown keeps it up, it will make it to the list of animes I will most definitely randomly feel the urge to rewatch even if I can remember everything that happened.
That’s an awfully long name. I shall think of a term or acronym to shorten it to. :3
Seriously though. The opening song was just stunning. I hope the rest of the episodes can keep up with the standard set by such a great first episode.
The attention to detail in not just this scene, but many others, is stunning.
